Why is red wine traditionally served in stemmed glasses? It seems to me that the stem serves the purpose of keeping your cold-beverage-altering body heat away from cold beverages. Red wine? Cold? WITD?

also it is NOT traditionally served in stemmed glasses. it is traditionally served in a small non footed glass. just because americans do it doesnt make it part of the tradition. p.s. sarah puts her red wine in the refrigerator.
